If you're still creating weekly blog posts do this instead. You’ll reach more people and get them to consume your content faster. Create several short form videos from the points your blog was going to make. Here's why and how: Last week I saw a post on why you need to write a weekly blog post. Talked about SEO and taking around 5 hours to create. Which is unusually fast to create an in depth 2000+ word article. It'll probably take you more than 5 hours research, write, edit, source images, and publishing an in-depth 2000 word blog post...let's be optimistic and say 7 hours. In less time, you can create 3-5 (or 10) short videos each highlighting your key points from the blog you planned to write. And if you're writing for SEO, it will take another 6 months (or more) to rank somewhere on the first page, especially if your site doesn't have significant brand power. So instead, take your phone, go beside a window or go outside under some shade and record about minute highlighting each point. If you want to up the production value, hire an editor for the same price as the writer you would have hired to include transitions, memes, gifs and so on…or learn how. Now publish on your videos on #Tiktok, Youtube Shorts, and Instagram Reels. All the platforms are chasing Tiktok so their algorithms are emphasizing short form videos. Meaning your videos will have a higher likelihood of reaching more people sooner than waiting for your content to rank. I've seen some of the my short videos get thousands of views with some getting a couple hundred of thousands. What about SEO? Some of these videos I created are now ranking as featured snippets both on YouTube and Google. Remember Google is prioritizing Shorts to catch up to TikTok. Still want to create that blog? Of course you can but now you have videos for each section too. Win - Win! If you haven't tried this yet, try it with your next four blog posts and see what happens. Make it a goal to create 20-30 short videos and see the results. Worst thing that can happen is having more content in a different format. Have you started creating short form videos for your company? What were the results? Thanks to Obaid Durrani 🛸 and Todd Clouser for the inspiration. Saw your convo on my feed from a post. #seo #marketing

TikToks are now showing up in Google as well, not to mention people using TikTok as a primary search tool.

TikTok videos are a perfect fit for our short attention spans. No one reads a long-form blog post - they skim. Bonus - you don't have to talk like a robot repeating keyword after keyword in a video -- it's more conversational and easier for your audience to connect.
